Description
Westmount Asset Management is seeking a skilled Freelance Copywriter to assist in the production of long-form, client-facing educational and marketing materials, including white papers, newsletter articles and blog posts.
Working in close collaboration with the Business Development and Marketing teams, this individual will focus on topics in investing and financial planning, including the financial markets, economy, retirement planning and estate planning.
From time to time, the Copywriter may also be called upon to contribute copy for social media posts, press releases and other collateral as needed.
Qualifications
Financial industry experience is a must.
The Copywriter must be adept at translating complex, nuanced financial topics into accessible narratives for non-technical audiences.
He/she has a curious mind, superb research and interview skills, and writes with clarity and simplicity in order to produce high-quality content that is both informative and interesting.
In addition to the skills mentioned above, the ideal candidate:
Proactively looks past surface-level facts to uncover interesting or surprising story angles.
Demonstrates a mastery of voice and tone and can adapt their writing style to align with Westmount’s brand guidelines.
Has a basic understanding of SEO principles and writes with SEO best practices in mind.
Takes direction well and asks questions when clarification is needed.
Reliably meets deadlines, respects word count targets, and turns in clean copy that is free of major grammatical, typographical, or stylistic errors.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess relevant industry credentials, such as the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) or Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) certifications.
