We are a well-established, family-like company, looking for an Field Estimator to join our team who would like to be a part of our continued success and growth.

A broad knowledge and experience in construction is a must.

Minimum of 3-5 years applicable experience in earthwork, excavation, asphalt and grading is preferred.

Salary depends upon experience.

Successful candidate must pass pre-hire drug and alcohol screen, and background check.

We are looking for a diligent Field Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics.

Your will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions.

You must be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons.

The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth.

The Field Estimator will conduct job walks, takeoffs, design, and complete our Excavation, Demolition, Grading and Concrete projects.

Responsibilities
Accept or reject bid invitations based on Supervisors recommendations
Contact prospects for additional information required for bid preparation
Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks available
Understand the project and its requirements based on plans, soils report, city, county or government requirements and permitting.
Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
Use software for takeoff, forecasting and budgeting
Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
Input bids into our Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) Software for tracking
Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)
Follow up on bids in a timely manner
Build relationships with key vendors (general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
Complete other responsibilities as assigned
Skills
Proven experience as estimator or similar position
Familiarity with financial and project management principles
Time management and organization skills
Math and IT ability with an analytical mindset
Proficient in relevant software (ProCore, Fieldwire, Bluebook)
Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
Thoroughness and reliability
Excellent organizational skills
Proficient with Word, Excel, Adobe is preferred
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably Shoring, Grading and Demolition
Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings
Valid Driver’s License
Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a huge plus, but not required
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00
– $45.00 per hour
