Field Deployment Engineer

We are looking to add a deployment engineer to our team.

The main function of a field deployment engineer is to support the maintenance, integration, architecture, and implementation of enterprise systems and networks.

A typical field deployment engineer is responsible for troubleshooting issues across cloud, system, data center, and network infrastructures.Travel requirement
– 100% driving distances between these sites Las Vegas, NV (client site), LA, CA .

Furthest candidate may have to travel is Sacramento, CA.

All travel expenses will be expensed.Contract duration
– 6 months, will be ongoing requirement and likely to extend beyond.Vaccination
– Must have vaccination card to visit client sites.Job Responsibilities:POP and Data Center experience (Very important)Carry out large, hyper-scale level buildouts and expansions of up to megawatt POPs and datacentersRack & Stack large quantities of equipment which often requires lifting/maneuvering up to 50 lbs.Install fiber and CAT6 cabling according to requirementsWork flexible hours in order to accommodate maintenance windows during off-peak hoursTroubleshoot issues in coordination with vendors, and other teams to quickly isolate and remediateInterface with customers and vendorsRun and Terminate CAT 5 and CAT 6 within POPS & Data CentersAsset and Infrastructure Change Management processes within all Data CentersAsset tagging, labeling, and trackingServer diagnostic and troubleshootingRepair servers (replace hard drives, replace bad sticks of RAM, MoB, etc)Physically assist in moving and racking equipment as directedPerform regular server and infrastructure planning, installation, maintenance, and supportWork alongside multiple network and infrastructure teams to design solutions across numerous devices and systemsPerform hardware installation, repair, and upgradesSupport application packaging, deployments, documentation, and release controlResearch emerging network technologiesProvide reporting and capability to manage essential metricsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, network engineering, or a related field required2-4 years of experience requiredExcellent knowledge of server hardwareAbility to work independently and with various cross-functional teamsStrong knowledge of core LAN/WAN/MAN servicesIn-depth understanding of network security and access controlFamiliar with network cabling (types, distance limitations, connectors)Familiarity with Juniper MX960, PTX1000, Ciena, Arista, Cisco equipmentUnderstand the usage of patch panels, fiber optic connectors, optic types, and form factors.

Know the difference between LC, SC, MTP, CFP2, QSFP, SFP+, and RTFMExperience in testing MPO/MTP/SM cables and connectorsUnderstanding of grounding power standards and related mathematics
