Fiber Analyst

Job Title: Fiber Network Documentation Analyst Location: Thorton, CO; WFH during COVID-19 and on site after at client site (TBD).

Years of experience: 2-4 Education: Bachelor’s Degree 1 year duration
– likely to extend beyond Candidate will start working remote
– local candidates only at this time, candidates may be required to commute to the office when needed (client site).

Job Summary Documents and manages fiber optic network assets for inside and outside plant network.

To cover long haul fiber routes, data center and campus infrastructure.

Edits and modifies network data, studies project objectives, research and develops fiber optic network techniques and approaches; validating date; supporting project implementation in a very detail working environment using in house fiber optic network tools.

Job titles/keywords that will help are: network engineer, fiber analyst, or fiber testing.

Must haves: -ISP/OSP some hands on experience or basic knowledge.

Nice to have(not required, trainable):
– Knows Auto CAD with GIS knowledge
– Telco industry Key Duties & Responsibilities 1.

Documents, edits and modify fiber optic network assets using in house fiber optic network software by recording fiber optic for inside plant and outside plant operations.

Inputs data for fiber optic design by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying fiber optic engineering concepts approaches and techniques into fiber optic network software.

3.

Enters fiber optic design plan by reviewing drawings, schematics, diagrams, and evaluating performance of materials into fiber optic network software.

4.

Evaluates fiber optic design issues by studying project concepts, objectives, priorities and requirements.

5.

Responsible for gathering, reviewing, and interpreting various data sources for comparison and validation of fiber optic network.

6.

Validates design drawings by identifying, isolating, and resolving performance problems in relation to data entry for fiber optic network software.

7.

Research and validates fiber optic network data to include contracts, diagrams, spreadsheets, 8.

Not required but a bonus, use of AutoCAD with GIS knowledge 9.

Use and excellent knowledge of Google, Microsoft software and apps.

10.Understanding of databases, queries, spreadsheets, and schematic drawings.

Job Requirements: Perform test on fiber optic cables Connecting fiber optic jumpers and drops (AERIAL) Maintain and operate fiber optic and splicing equipment Evaluate all fiber optic cables to engineer specifications Terminating, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cables Polishing fiber optic assemblies for medical endoscopes Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all fiber optic cables Oversee the splicing and activation work involving the fiber optic network Perform fiber cleaving and fusion splicing Using fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including fusion splicer, power meter and OTDR Perform fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable Ensuring that fiber network documentation Terminate, splice, and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures including both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber Terminate fiber optic cables in Fiber Distribution Panels/li Documenting and testing of all fiber optic cables within the systems fiber optic networks and related equipment with the end goal of providing maximum operating efficiency Oversee the splicing and activation work involving construction and repair of the fiber optic network Perform investigations of cut fiber optic cables and report all information concerning damages Staking sheets for the installation of fiber cables Dispatch according to company procedures Connecting fiber optic jumpers and drops (AERIAL)
