Responsibilities
Revolution Company is now hiring for an Extrusion Lead Operator for its night shift in Vernon, CA. This role is responsible for assisting with the supervision of the department’s shift day to day activities and team efforts and the utilization of resources to meet production schedules. The Extrusion Lead Operator’s role is a very hands-on position and will require operating and filling in for any Extrusion positions. In addition, this position will also be responsible for educating and training employees, assisting the Supervisor with departmental objectives, enforcing policies and processes, and ensuring employee satisfaction.
- Before shift starts, conduct stretch exercises and meet with all department team members.
- Safely and efficiently set up and operate extrusion lines to produce a high-quality film.
- Assist operators with set-up and troubleshooting of machinery problems on an as-needed basis.
- Ensure that proper materials are being used following procedures.
- Train operators to meet or exceed productivity requirements and minimize scrap.
- Effectively and continuously assist team members and monitor extruders to produce quality film throughout the shift.
- Ensure that Extrusion Operators complete daily extrusion reports.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel to use their Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Works and implements a work environment where workers work effectively with each other constructively and positively.
- Responsible for covering for any extrusion employees with their daily duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in blown film extrusion.
- Ability to obtain a valid Forklift certification.
- Necessary math skills – Addition, subtraction, and multiplication to record accurate reports.
- Ability to train others and help solve problems.
- Able to lead department when supervision is not around.
- Dependable, responsible, and adaptable.
- Knows how to use measuring tools and or gages.
- Team player works well with others as well as external departments.
- Ability to work with teams, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are critical.
- Must have good attendance and Safety Record.
- Intermediate in the use of Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical skills and comprehension of complex process and equipment problems.
- Maintain a high commitment to quality, thoroughness, and efficiency in all work aspects and meet project deadlines/due dates.
- High energy with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Occasionally required to move and/or lift up to forty (40) pounds.
