Event Planner

Client: HyliionPosition: Marketing Operations Planner Duration: FTE Remote: No, but have flexibility to work remote occasionally Fee: 30% Top skills: 1) 3 years experience planning corporate events and working with event-related vendors Bonus: working in a start-up environment, someone with a degree from a large university (A&M, UT, OU, etc.) Interview process: 1) Call with Jose 2) onsite panel for 1 hour The Marketing Operations Planner will work closely with the marketing, sales, customer success, and engineering teams, enabling Hyliion to execute on world-class campaign and trade show/events strategies.

This position will over-index on responsibility for our in-person customer events, but will also include responsibility for marketing tech infrastructure, vendor management, campaign program management and could grow to include budget management.

Position reports to Director of Product Marketing & Strategy.

Essential Functions: As the Marketing Operations Planner at Hyliion, you will handle events projects from idea to execution, and manage the execution of the events strategy for the company.

You should be confident in managing a trade show booth or high-profile customer event and feel comfortable with all aspects of the event lifecycle, including vendor management, budgeting, measurement of execution and reporting.

You will also be tasked with managing our marketing tech stack, including implementation and vendor management, as well as helping to manage overall marketing campaign execution.

Our team and company are growing rapidly, and this role will be a critical growth centric position.

In this role you will: Assist with planning and coordination of events for conferences, trade shows, workshops, and client on-site events including handling shipping, setup, run of show, tear down, coordination of securing event speakers and logistics pre-and-post event.

Management and development of our trade show booth properties, collateral, and promotional giveaways in coordination with external and internal partners.

Provide guidance on how to maximize sales pipeline value creation from select event opportunities.

Own the team’s vendor relationships and act as the main point of contact between event marketing, legal and finance through the negotiation of new vendor contracts and the creation of purchase orders, invoicing and expense report processing.

Plan, acquire and deploy various marketing automation technologies, working with external and internal partners.

Provide project management leadership and tracking for marketing campaigns, managing up to ensure Hyliion Marketing delivers campaigns on-time and under budget.

Provide cross-functional analytics on Marketing performance and execution.

Support the management of the Marketing team budget and track individual event budgets.

Manage marketing giveaway inventory by planning and ordering branded swag as needed.

Work between various Marketing functions to ensure that processes, documentation and strategy evolve as the company grows.

Ability to learn Hyliions business model and products passion for our space/technology is a big plus.

High level of comfort presenting information to others, including senior management.

Exceptional project management skills and ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at once.

Highly proficient with MSFT Office and pivot tables to track multiple budgets and analyze event spend and activity.

Need to be able to use / learn all available office productivity software.

Comfortable using marketing automation tools and desire to learn new technologies.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Self-starter who is resourceful and can complete projects in a growth-focused start-up environment, with minimal supervision.

Creative thinker, with a passion for executing customer and brand centric marketing activities.

Leadership skills, including familiarity with servant leadership and the concept of extreme ownership.

Required Qualifications: The Marketing Operations Planner will have a bachelors degree in a business related or technical field such as Marketing, Communications or Business Administration, with a minimum 3.0 GPA at graduation.

3-5 years of experience in an events management or marketing operations role, preferably in B2B technology, commercial vehicles, or the automotive industry.

Highly organized, detail oriented and equipped with a growth mindset.

Must be able to show demonstrated leadership experience.
