Environmental Permitting Specialist

Job SummaryAECOM is seeking an Environmental Permitting Specialist to be based in either or Chelmsford or Boston, MA office.

There is a potential to telecommute as well.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Fully qualified scientist.

Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.

Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

Works under only general direction.

Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.

Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.

Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.

Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.

Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures.

We work together across our global network to bring the best resources, skills and efficiencies to our projects.Minimum Requirements BA/BS in Biology, Wetland Science, Environmental Science, or related field 4 years of experience focusing on natural resource/wetlands projects and land-use regulation in Massachusetts, Connecticut and/or Rhode Island or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Preferred Qualifications 6 years experience focusing on natural resource/wetlands projects and land-use regulation in Massachusetts, Connecticut and/or Rhode Island.

MS in Biology, Wetland Science, Environmental Science or related field required Proven track record in preparing environmental permitting applications, and technical reports including prior experience with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act Regulations, MEPA, Ch.

91, 404/401 and/or experience in CT and RI regulatory programs.

Understanding of T Species and coastal programs a plus.

Field skills a bonus.

Strong written and oral skills required and working in a team environment on projects of all sizes including energy renewables, offshore wind, electrical transmission, and industrial/state projects throughout southern New England.
