Job SummaryAECOM is seeking a self-motivated experienced Environmental Engineer for our CA offices (Orange, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Oxnard). In this important position, the successful candidate will support Project Managers in the planning, project or task management and supervision of complex field tasks, including site investigations, drilling oversight, soil and groundwater sample collection, and related work. The candidate will also provide office support for project management, regulatory compliance, data management and technical evaluation, and report preparation for a wide range of multidisciplinary environmental remediation projects.This is a Project Manager or Technical Lead -track position, therefore, the ideal candidate must be able to work independently and productively in a collaborative team-environment, foster team building through inclusion and mentorship, display a high level of organization and communication, and demonstrate a strong desire to learn from Project Managers. We’re one global team – 47,000 strong – driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world.Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:Field-based task oversight of environmental investigation and remediation programs.Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and able to communicate with PMsProject Management tasks including budgeting, schedule and scope development and trackingData management, evaluation and report writing with experience drafting environmental investigation reports.Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic travel throughout the Orange area.Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s in a relevant engineering discipline (civil, chemical, environmental, etc.) or related field plus 4+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Valid driver’s licensePreferred QualificationsExperience in environmental consulting for Federal, State, or private clientsPE certification or those working towards certificationProject Management experience40-Hour HAZWOPER TrainingAdditional InformationDue to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship required.Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.This position may be subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening.Relocation assistance may be availableOffice location in Orange, CA (consideration may be given for Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Oxnard)What We OfferWe will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options.
