Enterprise Data Governance Lead

Job Description SUMMARY The primary purpose of this position is to support the Advance Auto Parts (AAP) Enterprise Data Governance activities, focusing primarily on the master data domains and providing influence and oversight of the other transactional data domains such as Sales and Finance.

The Data Governance Lead is expected to be proficient in the data governance framework and strong business acumen and understanding of Master Data Management and Data Quality principles.

Team up with the data domain leads, subject matter experts and data stewards to define and implements data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and strong working experience in implementing Data Governance and Quality, along with the business & technical knowledge to analyze the data issues and articulate, follow the repeatable and enforceable governance process for the sustenance of Data Governance in AAP.

Strategic Responsibilities : Provides leadership for the overall enterprise data governance and Data Quality Program at AAP.

Strong advocate for data quality across the entire organization.

Provides support to the Enterprise wide information and data security, privacy and compliance Enterprise wide metadata management and classification using Collibra Provides leadership to the Enterprise wide understanding of the value of data Executes and maintains DG council meetings (Executive and Working Group Council) Defines measures for DQ metrics for master data domains in AAP landscape using standardized framework Maintains awareness of all data-related issues being addressed by the Data Governance Working Group Council (DGC), elevates issues as appropriate to the Executive DGC, and ensures that results of data-related decisions are communicated to all enterprise data governance and steward resources.

Monitors DQ scorecard process/execution and provides feedback leadership and domain teams.

Ensures execution of data policies, impact analysis, and issue resolution processes by working with the domain leads and stewards.

Ensures that the Data Governance Council maintains communications and alignment with leadership by capturing action items and driving issues towards resolution Partners with InfoSec and compliance teams to ensure data compliance and standardization Interact with senior management to articulate operational effectiveness and barriers to entitlement.

Tactical Responsibilities Provide the tactical support to DG/DQ team developers and assist in decision making Ability to provide guidance to the data quality rules to provide clear understanding to the business stakeholders on the current state of the data and roadmap to monitor those metrics in the sustain state of the data governance framework.

Leader within the team to establish the KPIs and build a process to govern them.

Monitors DG process/execution and provides feedback to the Data Governance Working Group Council.

Monitors data quality milestones and performance measures and reports progress to enterprise data governance working group council (DGC).

Play an active role in the Data Governance Organization for the master data domains such as Product, Customer, Employee, Supplier and Location data domains, and be a strong advocate for the operationalization of data governance and its sustenance.

Very strong understanding of the Cloud technology and architecture and can articulate the IT related issues with the relevant stakeholders Work closely with the IT to ensure the alignment of master data management’s cleanse and the business rules are applied accordingly and all the applications are in sync with DQ framework Strong knowledge in using SQL to query the data on the various systems within AAP to understand the data & harmonization issues.

Manage the data lineage, business rules, cleansing rules, transformation to the AAP list of values across the enterprise in the Metadata Management Tool
– Collibra.

Knowledge of information and data architectures, strategies, organization and governance preferred Ability to persuade and influence business and IT executives Data quality and data risk management expertise, including understanding of standards, methods, processes, tools, and controls to manage enterprise-wide Working knowledge on the DG tool (Collibra) Experienced in using the data profiling tools (Talend) Strong knowledge on the SQL Data quality and data risk management expertise, including understanding of standards, methods, processes, tools, and controls to manage enterprise-wide Retail/Wholesale Automotive experience a plus EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; 12 years data analyst, master data management, data profiling, integration projects or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Recent 5 years data quality & master data management experience is a must.
