By always challenging ourselves – and each other – to push for more, we keep Herzog at the forefront of the rail industry.Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking an Engineer in Los Angeles, CA.Duties and Responsibilities:*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.• Assist Project Manager and Project Engineer and act as support for the field.• Know the contractual obligations that HCC has with the client and vice versa.• Review and log shop drawings; assist field engineers with processing of submittals and RFI’s• Code materials, labor and equipment.• Procurement and timely delivery of materials to the project.• Process material submittals and requests for information.• Assist with Subcontract administration• Acquire and assist with closing construction-related permits• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:• High School diploma or equivalent.• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in a construction related position preferred.• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills• Ability to work with a team• Must have strong organization skills• Must be highly motivated• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Prolog or PM Web is a plusPre-Employment Requirements:• Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.• Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.• Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this role.
