Overview:
The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day operational support to the Employee Relations COE team. This role will assist the ER Managers in providing guidance on policies and procedures, support employee engagement, training, and answer general questions from Team Members, all while effectively communicating between with the Employee Relations Mangers, HR Business Partners and Field Leaders. This role will report to the Director, Employee Relations, NA.

Responsibilities:
• Acts as the point of contact for all team member concerns and ensures these requests are processed timely, and/or directed to the relevant ER Manager for investigation.
• Collaborates closely with the Employee Relations Managers and other business partners through a consultative approach to help assess organization effectiveness, recommendations, and develop and implement integrated action plans that increase employee engagement, performance, retention, and development.
• Accountable for maintaining the ER Case Management system.
• Interpret and apply understanding of business practices, corporate policies, regulations, federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws to include complex and sensitive employee relations matters.
• Assist Legal with ER case information needed for litigations and agency claims.
• Analyzes ER data to determine themes, trends, and root causes to provide insights, training, and recommendations.
• Works in partnership with the Director, Employee Relations to identify, create, and enforce new and evolving ER challenges across the Foot Locker, Inc organization to prevent adverse impact, mitigate risk, and bolster organizational change.
• Furthers the Diversity Inclusion and Belonging strategy, principles, and pillars.
• Creates and assists in conjunction with the Director, Employee Relations, the designing of programs that ensure the fair treatment of Team Members and effective communication between Team Members and managers.
• Establishes and maintains department records related to employee relations practices, investigation questions, store culture surveys, and ER SharePoint Page.
• Designs and coordinates the presentation of ER-related training and development initiatives.
• Performs other HR duties as needed including special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years relevant ER experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience in HR.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize; must have strong organization, time management and follow-up sills leading with a sense of urgency.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, provincial, and local employment law, and regulations.
• Proven ability to make judgment calls and sound ethical decisions displaying a heightened level of responsibility, confidentiality, integrity, compassion, and professionalism.
• Proficiency in analyzing ER metrics and utilizing data to inform decision-making.
• Ability to assess sensitive and complex employee relations issues in a confidential, objective, and systematic manner.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to produce high quality and accurate work products.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Systems experience with Oracle PeopleSoft, Simple Tools, HR Case Management systems is a plus
• SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.
Benefits:
The annual base salary range is $60,000 – $70,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below:
