An Elementary Coach of School Transformation will be someone who is excited to keep these values in mind when executing day-to-day tasks and responsibilities.The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools is seeking highly effective Literacy and Math Coaches to join our effort to improve learning and academic achievement for students in the Boyle Heights, South Los Angeles, and Watts communities.
In collaboration with the Director of School Transformation, Coordinator of School Transformation, Partnership staff, school leaders, and teacher leaders, the Literacy/ Math Coach will provide site-based support with Common Core instruction, professional development, teacher collaboration and data analysis.
The Coach will serve as a Partnership team member.
He/she will report to and assist the Director of School Transformation with strategic school-site planning and implementing Partnership Academic Team initiatives.

– starter committed to transforming educational opportunities for students in Los Angeles and will have significant experience with elementary literacy and or math instruction, teacher development and Common Core.RESPONSIBILITIES* Work with the Director of School Transformation, Coordinator of School Transformation, and Vice President of School Transformation to develop and execute priority initiatives for ELA and Math instruction at a Partnership school site; use data to track and monitor progress toward goals, and adjust course as needed* Assist with the development and use of English Language Arts and Mathematics curricular materials, including pacing plans, common assessments, and other tools to support teachers and students in meeting the demands of Common Core* Build teacher capacity in order to utilize pacing guides, plan from standards, develop units/lessons that incorporate culturally responsive pedagogy and practices, develop assessments, implement instructional strategies and use data to inform instruction* Lead and support teachers in developing collaborative environments focused on student outcomes; work directly with school leaders and teacher leaders at the school-site to plan for and lead collaborative planning, lesson study cycles, and data cycles with grade-level or department teams of teachers* Design and deliver school-specific professional development to improve the delivery of instruction across content areas and provide teachers and leaders with instructional resources and strategies to support of literacy and mathematics* Facilitate ongoing data inquiries to determine progress and needs of school site instructional initiatives; support school leaders and teacher leaders in analyzing and responding to data* Assist teachers with implementing technology-connected learning programs, and interpreting data provided by these programs to inform instruction* Conduct classroom observations and coaching conversations to support teacher growth and promote student learning; Instructional Shifts for Literacy andMathematics; Disciplinary Literacy; and Standards for Mathematical Practice* Use and analysis of assessment data to inform instruction* Experience and comfort observing and providing feedback to teachers, both written and verbal, that leads to growth and development* Integrating technology, classroom observation, and supplementary materials* CHRE Framework a plusQualifications:* At least 5 years of successful full-time teaching experience in grades K-6* At least 2 years of successful leadership experience within the school context (coach, grade level chair, BTSA coach, peer observer, peer coach, teacher leader etc.)* An earned master’s degree or advanced degree preferred* A proven record of academic success working with students in historically underserved schools and setting high expectations for teachers and students* Ability to travel between school site and home office (must possess a valid Driver’s License)COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThe Partnership has recently completed a thorough study of market-competitive salaries, and has applied the learning from that study to salary offers for all home office positions.
