The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for Full-Time Electronics Engineer (NH-0855-03) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the 448th Supply Chain Management Wing (SCMW) at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, GA.

The primary purpose of this position: Responsible for providing engineering services in support of the planning, directing and managing the activities of the Support Equipment Supply Chain Management Squardron.

Mission Statement: 409 SCMS/GUEA: Provides responsive business solutions and comprehensive sustaining engineering services to support and acquire warfighter capabilities and to enhance combat weapon system reliability adn maintainability.

410 SCMS/GUBA: Responsible for planning, directing, and managing Supply Chain Operation activities for the Squadron to include managing all aspects of supply chain performance; developing and monitoring supply chain execution and sourcing activities; ensuring organizational compliance; and serving as the Squadron’s focal point for all customer relationship management issues pertaining to Support Equipment and ATS management.

The Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) office is responsible for improving war-fighter support through the attainment of greater supply chain effectiveness.

We work with our Tier-1 suppliers to develop and implement enterprise strategies for all stakeholders through improved communication and enhanced partnerships.

The Workload Transition Manager (WTM) is responsible for monitoring and directing all new workload assignment, workload transfer and workload transition activities on behalf of the 638 SCMG.

The WTM orchestrates all efforts and actions with the applicable SCM, SPO, and Center activities to ensure a timely, effective and efficient transition in supply chain management functions and activities.

The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification requirements applicable to the career category designated on the position description within 24 months of assignment.

This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months.

A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution in Electronics Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline is highly desired.

Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.

Knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.

Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of electronic systems or devices.

Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and other engineering disciplines.

Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches, and to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes.

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.

MAJOR DUTIES: Performs various engineering projects/tasks to sustain assigned systems/items to include reverse engineering, software sustainment, resolution of item deficiencies, establishment/improvement of processes, obsolescence mitigation, and engineering efforts to improve the availability/reliability and/or reduce cost of the system.

Provides customer support to improve efficiencies within the supply chain.

Generates engineering documents necessary for buy and repair purchase requests to meet established execution schedule.

Participates on source selections and provide technical reviews for contract actions.

Fosters an environment of continuous process improvement to improve methods and processes.

Performs professional systems engineering work.

Applies a number of diverse engineering practices, techniques, and processes in the field of systems engineering to provide significant and innovative recommendations for advancing specialized programs and/or methods, and evaluates and advises on the feasibility of new technology and state-of-the-art for incorporation into existing systems and equipment.

Maintains OSS&E baseline and ensure adherence to professional standards.

Adheres to engineering processes and promotes compliance especially concerning the self-inspection program.
