EHS Coordinator

The EH&S Coordinator is an entry level EHS position. The individual starting in this role is typically someone coming out of the trades or a new graduate just starting in the field. The EHS Coordinator may report to a project based EHS Manager or be placed on a smaller project by themselves. Provide safety support and technical assistance to project teams and be an excellent role model for Skanska and subcontractor personnel. Support project teams in identifying and providing solutions for construction and environmental hazards. The EH&S Coordinator must be a flexible and adaptable team player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

What You’ll Do:

  • Engage in the deployment and execution of the SHEMS with project operations;
  • Assist in or conduct project orientations;
  • Conduct compliance inspections;
  • Assist in incident investigations and monthly reporting;
  • Enter information into Intelex;
  • Responsible to be an expert in the PlanIt system;
  • Supporting role in implementation of emergency plan maintenance and support, maintenance of subcontractor Toolbox Talks, and attendance and support of safety meetings;
  • Assist project teams in determining and/or maintaining compliance all EHS standards.

We’re Looking For:

  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong communication skills, particularly with field level employees;
  • Conversant in OSHA requirements;
  • Computer skills and proficiency including but not limited to Microsoft Office products;
  • 2-5 years of industry experience and or 1-5 years construction safety experience for a tradesman coming into the department;
  • OSHA 30hr training certification.
