Brand Promise: We promise to simplify the physician’s med-legal experience We promise to provide the insight and expertise physicians expect We are committed to 100% satisfaction We promise to make things right if we fall short Position Summary: The Medical-Legal Editor (MLE) will work alongside our physician evaluators and be a valuable resource to the physician in all phases of the medical-legal evaluation process. The MLE is responsible for monitoring the physician’s calendar, preparing case notes, and facilitating the production of timely reports that meet all statutory requirements. The MLE will be assisted by the talented CME practice management staff, billing staff, and historian staff. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Oversee the physician evaluator’s calendar and ensure timely submission of all reports Operate under strict guidelines established by the physician evaluator in drafting medical- legal reports by incorporating the applicant’s history, medical records, physical examination findings, and physician notes Ensure completeness, accuracy and internal consistency throughout the report Ensure compliance with the Labor Code and current case law Carry out impairment calculations as instructed by the physician evaluator and in accordance with AMA Guides, 5th Edition. Include Almaraz/Guzman and Kite analysis where instructed. Prepare draft supplemental medical-legal reports Prepare case notes to aid the physician evaluator for upcoming depositions Qualifications and Preferred Skills: The successful MLE candidate will possess: Experience with medical-legal workers’ compensation reporting including QME, AME, and IME reports Excellent writing skills Exceptional ability to ensure internal consistency in medical-legal reporting Thorough understanding of the AMA Guides, 5th Edition Thorough understanding of the governing statutes, Labor Code, and case law specific to workers’ compensation medical-legal reporting Proficiency in medical terminology Exceptional planning and time management skills Dedication to the highest degree of professional excellence and ethical practices Bachelor’s degree preferred The successful MLE candidate will enjoy: A unique opportunity to team-up physicians and substantively impact their success A self-guided position with flexibility in approach to tasks Training in a proprietary medical-legal reporting program designed to ensure your success A thorough onboarding process with direct access to educators Unlimited opportunity for professional success
