eCommerce Lead

Location: US – Los Angeles or San Diego, CA (preferred) or Remote

We are looking for a Director of E-Commerce to lead the direct-to-consumer (“DTC” ) business of a rapidly growing Action Sporting Goods Company.

The Company has numerous iconic consumer brands sold through Retail Stores (Big Box & Specialty Retail Stores) and Online (DTC, Amazon etc) in the USA and globally. In this role, you will drive sales of products through the various company websites.

The role will be responsible for managing websites that maximize traffic, site conversion and, ultimately, sales & profitability growth.

Description The ideal candidate is an eCommerce and Digital professional that enjoys building teams, driving strategy, and working with C-level Executives to shape the E-commerce business for our rapidly growing business.

A strong background with sales platforms such as Shopify or Magento, ESPs, UX, customer acquisition tools, and conversion strategies are all necessities, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects. Additionally, working with brand stakeholders is key to success in this role.

▪ Lead and manage an internal DTC team and third-party agencies, including offshore

▪ Drive website architecture and optimization for the eCommerce site, prioritizing sales and conversions while embracing the brand vision

▪ Oversee all site merchandising including navigation, categories, visual merchandising, video content, internal search and product setup and activation

▪ Capture daily DTC site analytics, overseeing key performance indicators (e.g., traffic, conversion, AOV, CAC, LTV, etc.), interpreting data into trends and strategy, and optimizing P&L/budgets; monitor and provide tracking/reports on a regular basis.

▪ Manage DTC site inventory and forecasting while partnering with our 3PL and internal operations team to improve fulfillment capabilities, minimize costs, and manage the intersection between our Shopify site and our fulfillment system.

▪ Maintain up-to-date site content including pricing, assortment, overall category, and product page design/content, and purchase journey.

▪ Develop new features/enhancements, online promotions, and merchandising improvements (e.g. A/B testing, personalization) to maximize conversions. ▪ Partner with the brand marketing and creative teams to develop targeted content and campaigns that influence consumers on their journey.

▪ Directly responsible for achieving budgeted sales goals and P&L including achieving top-line sales/bottom-line targets, site pricing, assortment, promotions, costs, and penetration/expansion for new sites.

▪ Ability to understand industry, marketplace, competition, consumer behavior/demands and demographics

▪ Grow E-Mail Opt-in lists, create segmentation and engagement strategy and drive email campaigns

▪ Explore growth initiatives including, but not limited to, establishing a brand/company loyalty program

  • Identify and execute growth strategies for the e-commerce business
  • Implement and evaluate e-commerce promotions leveraging social media programs
  • Impact e-commerce efforts and the customer experience on the web
  • Validate e-commerce strategy (both existing and future customers)
  • Manage the e-commerce redesign efforts
  • Assist e-commerce director in analyzing business performance to drive growth
  • Motivate, mentor and educate an e-commerce team
  • Develop e-commerce growth strategies that support maximum growth and profitability
  • Manage any activity that impacts the e-commerce channel and website
  • Provide job direction to associates regarding e-commerce orders
  • Develop and execute approach in the e-commerce area
  • Support the marketing and e-commerce functionality for Midwest dealerships
