JOB SUMMARY: The Draftsperson will generate detailed architectural drawings, specifications and collateral material as directed by senior staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce Construction Documents utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD. Construction Documents include: Floor plans, Options, Sections, Elevations, Utility Plans and Details.
  • Produce Marketing Material utilizing CAD. Work to include: Brochures and Web Files.
  • Coordinate drawings with team members, redline/back-check work, pick-up redlines, plot drawings, etc.
  • Respond to municipality corrections by means of drawings and response letters.
  • Coordinate the assembly, packaging and/or shipping of architectural drawings, specifications, structural calculations, etc.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • High School Diploma or equivalent degree required.
  • CAD certificate from accredited school or the ability to demonstrate basic CAD proficiency.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience drawing with CAD for a construction related field.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic residential construction knowledge.
  • Sr. Draftsperson- over 10 years experience with a production homebuilder experience and serves as a trainer/source of knowledge for other Draftspersons.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must possess the knowledge of materials and methods, and construction techniques used in the construction or repair of residential buildings and/or other structures.
  • Must be able to organize work, have the ability to listen well, take accurate notes and process directions. Then have the ability to take those elements and execute them per a schedule as directed by senior staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work within a team-setting, inclusive of other’s ideas, and a willingness to cooperate.
  • Proficiency in Autocad, Microsoft Office and Adobe.

Work Requirements

  • Work 8-hour days with flexibility for additional work hours when necessary.
  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company.
