Professional Requirements

Summary:

The  Disability Management Coordinator performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: project management, employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action and employment equity program and benefits management.

This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.

The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

Leads, coordinates and executes on the delivery of outcomes relative to HR initiatives and projects.

Maintains employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.

Manages and tracks employee disciplinary action.

Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.

Maintains and processes Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.

Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.

Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (reviews applications, interviews).

Acts as an employee relations specialist.

Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems.

Reports vacation, sick, personal day and holiday use to payroll and scheduling.

Maintains and distributes report of same.

Maintains employee personnel files.

Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner.

Reports, maintains and monitors workers’ compensation case files; follows-up on open cases.

Assists with coordination of employee recognition programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent years of experience.

Preferred Education:
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification.

Minimum Work Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in human resource required Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Must be able to work in a union environment.

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications: 
Three to five years of HR generalist experience, preferred.

SERVICE & QUALITY: In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives.

Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our patients, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors.

WORKPLACE SAFETY: In addition to defined working conditions and physical requirements, employees are accountable for working safely; following established policies & procedures; utilizing all designated protective personal equipment (PPE) and/or safety equipment assigned for task; and reporting all injuries and hazards to their supervisor immediately.

Supervisors and Managers are accountable for ensuring the safety performance of employees; applying consistent practices in compliance with federal, state and local regulations; providing guidance to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
