We wanna talk to you! nn nn n nn nn The deets: nn nn n nn Edit text for video titles, soundbites, social media thumbnails and video descriptions, to ensure accuracy, originality and adherence to appropriate style Work closely with content producers, editorial staff and social media managers (including non-native English speakers) to write text for compelling, clickable and sharable stories Read between the lines to help build the story, and edit with concise, impactful language Quickly identify the hook point for stories and present it engagingly, quickly, with few words Collaborate and take direction while also offering strong opinions and out-of-the-box ideas Maintain and stays current with extensive social media feeds to ensure Maffick’s brands stay cutting-edge and up-to-date with style trends.
nn n nn nn Skills, knowledge, experience nn nn n nn 1-3 years experience copyediting and/or copywriting for social for a news or entertainment organization (or comparable) Able to pass copy editing and/or writing trial(s) as part of the interview process Able to multi-task and organize workflow as needed, to ensure ASAP projects are edited quickly and accurately Native command of American English Deep knowledge of social media platforms and “what works” in terms of language and style Sharp, funny; able to express a lot in a few words Detail-oriented and typo-averse; think grammar-wizard-meets-smart-AF-millennial nn n nn nn Desired personal characteristics nn nn nn Reliable and enthusiastic; willingly goes the extra mile in all aspects of the job Proactive about exploration and evolution in approach, to produce the best possible product Exudes positive vibrational energy Stays calm in high-stress situations; able to effectively manage emotions in the workplace Prefers to work within a structure/plan, but is able to make on-the-spot changes as needed.
