Dietitian

ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Manager andPrincipal Investigator, provide dietary assessments and counsel to participantsaccording to protocol.

Assist in the set-up, coordination, and management ofthe Industrial, Sponsor and Investigator -Initiated Studies, clinical trialsand research activities related to the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA,Division of Clinical Nutrition.Duties and skills will also be provided to the RiskFactor Obesity Program.

In this role you will develop, plan, and providenutrition education, counseling services, and clinical services withinestablished guidelines.

Assess patient needs, establish priorities, design,develop, recommend, update, implement and evaluate programs, curriculum,materials (written and audiovisual), protocols, procedures and standards forhealth/nutrition education.Clinic responsibilities will include act as a CareConnect End User, responsible for patient documentation in electronic medicalrecord; provide program orientation on an individual or group basis; assist thepatient in selecting the diet plan that will best meet their individualnutrition goals and lifestyle; conduct patient follow-up appointments on aweekly basis to evaluate progress.QualificationsRequired:* Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD), as confirmed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.* Master’s degree in food/nutrition or related field.* Current California RD License* Ability to provide dietary counseling according to protocol* Clinical research experience as a Study Coordinator in research involving human subjects.* Working knowledge of good clinical practices for clinical research.* Knowledge of chart, graph and table formatting and ability to enter and manipulate the data on a personal computer.* Demonstrated project management skills in changing from one task to another quickly in order to complete scheduled projects in a timely an efficient manner.* Knowledge of medical and scientific terminology.UCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
