DH Project Scheduler

Growing research and development firm recognized for contributing to national security objectives by supplying innovative solutions to challenging technical problems faced by the United States has an immediate opening for a Project Scheduler supporting various key business areas reporting to the Director, Finance.  This is an exempt non-supervisory full-time position.  This position can reside in the Northridge, CA, Tucson, AZ or Valparaiso, FL office.
Summary:
The Project Scheduler will work closely with project managers, technical staff, finance, and others on the team to plan, create, and manage project schedules to enable program decision?

making and support delivery of quality products and capabilities to our customer(s).

This will include preparation of program plans, risk management, monitoring program execution, reviewing labor and materials costs, operational budgets, and schedules; tracking program deliverables and inventory; and recommending corrective actions such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, funding allocations, and work requirements as necessary.

In partnership with the Program Finance team, the Project Scheduler will communicate schedule status and performance to the program team.

The successful candidate will work in a fast?paced environment and must maintain a high level of accuracy.

Position will also include responsibilities for IMS reporting requirements on various program including Labor, material, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) based on Contract Work Breakdown Structure by working with project managers and task leads.
Develop an achievable master schedule critical path for projects and/or programs to include monitoring of contractual milestones
Maintain Project schedule to reflect task?level progress (% complete), program materials and/or subcontract tasking status.
Understand monthly project accounting and schedule performance data for EVMS reporting.
Ensure accuracy of project schedules and performed version control
Work with PM and staff to track progress and status of deliverables.
Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work?around.
Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
Suggest management of risks affecting costs and schedules.
Support project management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems.
Assist project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management and the customer informed on project progress.
Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
Interact with program managers, customers, managers, operation leaders, and financial team.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
3+ years’ experience with program schedule forecasting and analysis, particularly in a US Defense of Defense (DoD) program environment.
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Thorough understanding of US DoD schedule policies and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and/or certifications required for the position.

Earned Value Management (EVM) experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience maintaining extensive integrated master schedules
Program Management Professional (PMP), CAPM, or PMI?SP designation preferred.
