As a Design Team Lead for Utilities joining our team in LA, you’ll be the on-site representative for our Jacobs team. You will d irect others team members in routine engineering/design work as they are assigned by the design supervisor or Project Manager, as well as lead and coordinate design for projects. As the established authority in pipeline design, we will ask you to oversee drawings produced by others as well as: Assuredeliverables are prepared in compliance with established standards, checked and readied for issue on schedule Workclosely with assigned designers to develop design drawings for projects Assistdesign supervisor and Project Manager on proposals as directed Responsible for drawing package correctness and quality Lead position for assigned design projects Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, project design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems Directintegration of technical activities and products Evaluate and approvedesign changes, specifications and drawing releases Controlexpenditures within limitations of project budget Prepareinterim and completion project reports Usecomputer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs Review all designs for compliance with current procedures and standards QA/QC all drawings for CADD standards and format Lead a team of designers to deliver work as specified to client Planand formulats engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements Performtechnical assistance as required Leadproject design reviews Organizeand plans project drawings Coordinatework with other disciplines Evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability Working together, we’ll help you grow and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future – big and small, global and local. Here’s What You’ll Need: 10 years’ experience in the design field Microsoft Office skills Ability to report on trends Ability to work with multiple discipline projects Advanced designing and supervision skills BS/MS degree in design a plus or relevant experience required Experience in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and AVEVA platforms Jacobs health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
