Job purpose The Data Wrangler works in co-ordination with the rest of the I/O team to manage secure and time-critical electronic deliveries into and from the secure MPS production environment via various data transfer technologies, in addition to managing the content while within our network, and archiving projects when necessary.
Due to the global nature of our business, this role will sometimes require these tasks to be carried-out outside of normal office hours.
Reporting To The Data Wrangler will report to the I/O Manager.
Key Responsibilities Data Transfers Electronic transfers of content in multiple formats, using Aspera and various other secure transfer technologies Data Verification Performing data integrity and standards compliance checks using in-house and third-party tools Content Management Tag assets with metadata for ingestion to the MAM MAM housekeeping Pre-Ingest QC Pre ingestion quality check by manual and automated means Content Storage Management & Archiving Monitoring and organization of data within the Production and Distribution networks, including file permissions, and archiving to tape Content Security Constant awareness and application of physical and electronic security procedures, with consideration to data and client requirements Troubleshooting Technical support in the above areas for MPS and external teams Account Management Maintaining user accounts and settings on our Aspera server Candidate Specifications Essential Requirements
– Qualifications Degree or equivalent experience
– Experience 2+ Years working experience in Post Production or Digital Cinema environments
– Skills & Knowledge High level of written and spoken English Strong communication and troubleshooting skills

– Experience Experience with Linux, OS-X and Windows operating systems Working experience with Aspera or other transfer technologies Experience with LTO archiving format Experience with manual QC
– Skills & Knowledge Knowledge of Bash scripting, Python Knowledge of Digital Cinema formats and content security Knowledge of MAM (Media Asset Management) systems Knowledge of Automated QC software (Baton, Vidchecker, etc.) Essential Requirements are those, without which, a candidate would not be able to do the job.
Desirable Requirements are those which would be useful for the post holder to possess and will be considered when more than one applicant meets the essential requirements.
