Job brief

The Feed Specialist will be responsible for setting up, analyzing, and optimizing product data feeds for our (Feedonomics LLC) clients. You will be responsible for all elements of data feed optimization, ensuring adherence to Feedonomics and industry best practices and documented methodology to ensure a high level of service delivery. You will transform raw data into an optimized product feed, tuned for performance in each unique channel, including Google, Bing, CSEs, and Marketplaces.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Building product feeds, including optimizing, matching, modifying, sorting, and filtering mass quantities of product data into usable product listings
  • Setting up data imports from eCommerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce)
  • Setting up data imports via FTP
  • Manipulating data by implementing SQL queries through data sorting, extraction, and optimization
  • Establishing parent/child variations and setting up a single product/SKU to have a shared identifier with parent SKU
  • Using brand mapping tools to convert multiple brand titles into a single brand
  • Configuring and mapping attributes from XML files
  • Writing queries to accomplish data optimizations, transitions, filtering, sorting and fixing broken product URLs and image URLs
  • Restructure product data to fit feed criteria of specific shopping engines and channels
  • Setting up feed exports to CSEs including Google Shopping, Facebook, Bing Shopping and Marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay
  • Liaising with clients to resolve any feed-related issues that come up after optimization
  • Communicating with various shopping channels, Marketplaces, and affiliate networks to gain clarity on their specific feed requirements
  • Resolving errors and warnings in various shopping channels
  • Working within Feedonomics platforms and Excel spreadsheets

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a discipline with strong academic performance in analytic and quantitative coursework, including Information Systems, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or a related field
  • Ability to methodically analyze data sets
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and research skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment
  • Required to pass our internal written/performance test for technical skills and aptitude for data analysis and problem-solving
  • Ability and means to work from home when required

Working hours

  • First 4 – 6 weeks (training period): 10:00 to 19:00 (SAST)
  • On completion of training: 17:00 to 02:00 (SAST)
