Data & Analytics Product Lead (Principal) – Surgical Robotics

You will join a world class team of mechanical, electrical, software and systems engineers responsible for further development and enhancement of the globally launched Medtronic’s Robotic Assisted Surgery platform through commercial launch and production scale-up: https://www.medtronic.com/covidien/en-us/robotic-assisted-surgery/hugo-ras-system.html This exciting leadership position is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of the long-term product evolution of Data & Analytics for improved Robotic Assisted Surgery.

You will work with the Medtronic Surgical Robotics team and other relevant teams to augment an already existing robotic surgical platform, from inception, to R&D, and commercial launch.

A Day in the Life As the Product Lead, you will be a product leader of innovation developing data & analytics technologies to augment Medtronic’s Robotic Surgery Platform for improved surgery.

As the Product Lead of Data & Analytics R&D Projects, you will drive project execution by a cross-functional team with members from Centers of Excellence (Systems, HW, SW, System Integration, Verification & Validation) and other teams.

You will leverage your engineering and product development expertise, and your project management skills to drive cross-functional project teams for timely execution.

You are expected to work with teams on resource allocation with aggressive & feasible project timelines, to instill the best practices of product development, to identify gaps & blockers with follow-up actions for resolution.

If needed, you will represent the R&D function as the R&D core team member, to work with the core team consisting of Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, Program management and Operation to make critical decision regarding projects execution and future product roadmap.

Must Have: Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience Nice to Have: Bachelors degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in relevant work with 3 years in the medical industry.

Preferred Project Leadership Experience A proven product leader of innovation on multiple, multidisciplinary projects Experience of driving R&D development towards successful product launch A self-starter who would ask the right questions, challenge the status quo, and acquire knowledge quickly for the best possible outcome Proven ability to translate high level program objectives into action plans for an R&D team in order to meet short
– and long-term goals and timelines Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate, influence, and inspire others around a vision of excellence for a bright future Well-developed collaboration skills with proven track record of interfacing between multiple groups and functions (R&D, QA, marketing, regulatory, and external experts) Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail Patient centric mindset with a strong desire to improve clinical outcomes Preferred Technical Experience: Experience of R&D work in one of the following engineering disciplines: SW, Robotics, Biomedical, EE, ME Experience of working on projects contributing towards regulatory requirements and filing Detailed understanding of key product performance criteria that help make critical project & technical decisions Understanding the principles of software as medical device Understanding of robotics, analytics, machine learning, data privacy, data visualization, and SW development
