If challenging and meaningful work excites you, make a difference and join us in this rewarding enterprise!POSITION SUMMARYThe responsibilities of the Production Planner position encompasses all functions of forecasting, production planning, and inventory control to support sales and marketing requirements.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.* Schedule material/product movement through the plant/warehouse to support the production schedule and meet sales requirements.* Set up, release, monitor, expedite and close work orders as required per Master Schedule/ sales forecast.* Update and maintain manufacturing related documentations in SAP (e.g. Bill of Materials, Pick Lists, Routers).* Track and balance inventory of WIP (Work in Process) materials and finished goods.* Monitor and stay current on lot status and provide support as needed to expedite the release process.* Create, release and maintain reports, records and master files required for production planning and inventory control.* Perform special projects, and process/systems improvements as assigned.* Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and industry standards.* Generate thorough written reports, when required, that summarize investigations performed for out-of-specification results or out-of-procedure events.* Participate in regulatory and internal inspections/audits including providing written responses as applicable for area of responsibility.* Strict adherence to procedures and practices according to FDA regulations.* Strong emphasis on documentation according to FDA regulations.* Adhere to departmental corporate safety policies.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related scientific/ technical field is required. APICS or CPIM certification is preferred.* Related experience with material/production planning and inventory control in a pharmaceutical, GMP, or FDA regulated environment is preferred.* Basic understanding of the fundamentals of forecasting, planning, inventory control, and supply chain principles is preferred.* Analytical skills and spreadsheet analysis experience is preferred.* Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.* Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make structured decisions on a routine basis.* Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail.* Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to exercise good judgment.* Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines.* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels in a team environment.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.* Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).* Must be flexible with working hours / shifts in order to accommodate the 24 hour, 7 day plant operation.* Sound knowledge of ERP/MRP (SAP) systems for planning and purchasing is preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* Ability to lift /move up to 25 pounds.* Ability to stand for extended periods – up to four (4) hours at a time.* Manual dexterity to perform all job functions.* This job description is accurate at the date of publication and may change over time.
