ResponsibilitiesThe Cytogenetics Lab is seeking a Cytogenetic Technologist, Per Diem.
Primary duties include: microscopic FISH analysis, karyotyping analysis using computer system, FISH wet lab procedures, slide hybridization, PET slide preparation, cell and tissue culture techniques, both non-routine and complex procedures (e.g.
C-banding, NOR stain, FISH, High resolution analysis, CVS direct and indirect set-up, leukemia blood, bone marrow and solid tumor analysis).
Other responsibilities include method development-modification-parallel testing, collaboration on or independent preparation of abstracts or manuscripts, repair of laboratory instruments, sample processing, reagent preparation, and data entry.
Qualifications
• A current, California Clinical Cytogeneticist license
• Ability to assess accuracy and reasonableness of specimen requests
• Skill in using sterile technique
• Excellent communication, time management and organization skills
• A team player
