Curriculum Specialist

Business Unit Description Older Adults Technology Services from AARP (OATS) advocates for technology inclusion for the 50, providing digital literacy training and programming to older adults.

OATS, with nearly two decades of experience and insights on how older people interact with technology, uses that knowledge to create world-class programs that form the basis for systems change.

Summary The role requires a creative, collaborative, bi-lingual in Spanish, and highly organized professional to help ensure continued success of the organization’s new and core curricular offerings.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of professionals to design OATS curriculum and ensure its proper delivery.

Responsibilities Assist with the adaptation of in-person materials to online modules Create new content for internal programs and external projects Maintain and update existing curriculum Write curricular materials, surveys, and other program content in Spanish Manage translations of curriculum Review, organize, and catalog translated materials Work with curriculum and training teams to establish and maintain systems of feedback Manage data related to curriculum Adhere to OATS’ style and “voice” throughout all content modalities Build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Requirements Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience in curriculum design and/or a Master’s degree Prior experience teaching adults and /or older adults is essential Solid understanding of adult learning theory Bilingual Spanish (an additional language beyond English and Spanish is a plus) Certification in translation is a plus Must possess excellent research skills Must have strong InDesign skills, additional platforms in Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus Working knowledge of Adobe Captivate is a plus Compensation and Benefits AARP offers competitive benefits with a 401(k); 100% company-funded pension plan; health, dental, and vision plans; life insurance paid time off to include company and individual holidays, vacation, sick, caregiving, and parental leave; performance-based and peer-based recognition; tuition reimbursement; among others.
