Come work for Boeing Satellite Systems at El Segundo Satellite Development Center in Los Angeles, CA – World’s Leading Manufacturer of Commercial, Civil, and Government Satellite Systems, as a Cryogenic Thermal Design Analysis Engineer. You will be part of Boeing’s Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems, System Engineering team.

We help our employees to see the full system picture of satellite design from the beginning of a contract through to satellite build, test, and final launch. You will get to see the full system and can participate in every step growing from an analyst to a leader or manager, or staying technical and diving deep into an aerospace technology.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Lead or Senior Engineer.
Position Responsibilities:

Support the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers

Perform detail design and analysis development and modification of mechanical, electrical, and thermal system installations

Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems

Assist in establishing and documenting environmental/thermal engineering and system level design requirements (e.g. performance, environment, functionality, life, envelope, integration)

Assists in performing and documenting analyses of environmental/thermal components and systems using models and tools to validate or assess the design

Support the development of ideas and concepts for future environmental/thermal control

Launch and On-Orbit Spacecraft Mission and Spacecraft Thermal Vacuum Testing support is expected
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

5+ years of experience with design and test of electronics for extreme temperature environments (e.g. cryogenic)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
-
10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
-
Hands on experience working in development labs and with cross discipline engineering teams
Typical Education & Experience:
Lead (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 5)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 6)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years’ related work experience, Master+18 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for Lead Level 4: $124,100 – $167,900
Summary pay range for Senior Level 5: $146,200 – $197,800
Summary pay range for Senior Level 6: $178,500 – $241,500
