CREDIT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST I

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Responsible for the execution and support of the end to end credit process of Personal & Business Banking.
This position is accountable to establish and provide operational risk oversight for the origination and ongoing management of its loan portfolio.
This includes application intake and regulatory compliance, implementation of a data governance framework, development of department reporting, and ongoing portfolio monitoring activities.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Manages loan application intake process including document review and performs initial due diligence.
- Monitors loan process to ensure compliance with key banking regulations and with bank and department policies and procedures.
- Oversees engagement process for third party reports and partners with bank’s appraisal department to complete real estate due diligence as defined in bank credit policy.
- Performs pre-boarding callback of credit approval document for accuracy and consistency of critical data elements.
- Performs post-boarding callback of source documents to loan system to validate accuracy of critical data elements.
Manages process to remediate errors in bank loan systems.
- Responsible for post-boarding tasks including UCC filing review and lien position validation, and receipt and acceptance of closing conditions temporarily waived.
- Maintains controls related to department’s data governance process and collaborates with Data Governance and CCAR teams to resolve any data related issues.
- Reviews loan documentation and sets up ticklers for required financial reporting and covenants, annual reviews, and site visits.
- Manages ongoing portfolio operations process including review and acceptance of client financial documents.
- Executes department’s imaging processes.
- Serves as department’s point of contact to facilitate IPG annual reviews.
- Designs, generates and implements division credit reports including maturing loans, past dues, financial ticklers, SAD transfers, downgrades and loan pipelines.
- Supports line of business in the preparation and fieldwork for internal audits conducted by Credit Risk, Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance.
- Establishes and manages renewals process.
- May require expertise in SBA and State Loan Guarantee programs.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must-Have*
- H.S.
Diploma
- Minimum 2 years with a financial services organization required
- Minimum 2 year experience with financial software systems required
Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- General knowledge of commercial lending process required.
- Familiarity with financial data, such as tax returns, financial statements, credit approvals and loan documents preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of PC applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
