(“interface” or “Company”) is looking for a caring, dedicated certified occupational therapy assistant to provide quality care to the residents. Under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (“COTA”) helps plan and implement patient treatment, plan and coordinate patient discharge, and prepare detailed progress reports and appropriate patient documentation. Treatments will include training in daily living activities, functional skills, motor development, compensation techniques use of adaptive equipment and splinting. Because our success depends upon the dedication of our employees, we are highly selective in choosing new members of our team.Responsibilities and DutiesEssential Responsibilities and ExpectationsUnder the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist:Determine patients’ treatment needsParticipate in patient assessment, including providing information to the Occupational Therapist for analysisProvide patient treatment and services, as recommended by the Occupational TherapistEnsure treatment programs meet patients’ daily living needsAssure all required written patient documentation and Company paperwork are completed appropriately and submitted on a timely basisComplete all required documentation from evaluations performed prior to leaving the facility each dayRecommend termination of services or treatment, as necessaryCarry out assignments given by the Director of RehabilitationMaintain strong professional relationships and good rapport with all significant administrative and restorative nursing personnel in the facilitySubmit all billing logs and necessary information on a timely basisReport any problem areas/equipment within each facility to the appropriate supervisor immediately Comply with State Licensing Board of California, Title 22, CMS, and California Labor Board guidelinesComply with Company and facility rules, policies and proceduresComply with all applicable safety rules, policies, and proceduresAdditional Responsibilities and ExpectationsUnder the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist, provide necessary training and guidance to student interns as assigned, including:Supervising students during the internshipProviding clearly defined, career-related (i.e., non-clerical) responsibilities and tasks in accordance with the students’ academic programsInforming student interns about and ensuring their compliance with Company, facility, state, and federal guidelines, and Completing any paperwork required by the Company or the students’ academic program Assume other duties as assignedPhysical and Mental RequirementsThese physical and mental demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the COTA. This is an active patient care environment.
