Job Description

APC manufactures a variety of products that incorporate materials such as fabrics, metals, plastics, composites, rubbers, and/or a combination of these materials. The Bidding Specialist is responsible for interacting with both clients and vendors alike for job-cost and bidding purposes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifying opportunities via the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and OEM web portals for solicitation.
  • Devise a successful strategy for winning a bid to include pinpointing selling points while understanding clients specific requirements and knowing APCs operation and profit margins.
  • Assemble cost breakdowns for potential bids including materials, processes, finishes, labor, etc.
  • Interface with sub-contractors.
  • Utilize vendor network to assemble the most efficient and cost-effective bid.
  • Communicate with Production Manager to assess appropriate labor and hours needed per job.

Job Qualifications:

  • Possess thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and associated parts/spec lists.
  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace & Defense contracting is highly preferred.
  • Engineering background.
  • Must be extremely organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
