Corporate Quality Engineer

The Corporate Quality Engineer supports the corporate quality function in regards to quality systems and compliance to required standards, as well as customer and internal requirements.

This position supports the three functions within Corporate Quality: Quality Management Systems, Specification Engineering, and Continuous Improvement.

The support function will include management of systems, documentation, communications, metrics, and training.

Duties & Responsibilities: Quality Management Systems Document Management
– Manage the Corporate Controlled Documents as the Corporate Document Manager and Document Management System Trainer of the process.

Participate with group and plant transitions from legacy systems to the corporate system templates.

Quality Audits
– Monitor Quality Audit Dashboards for compliance to the Quality Audit Policy, assist plants with system questions.

Escalate issues to the Quality Management Systems Manager.

Audit the corporate support functions within Fountain Inn offices for plant quality certifications.

Management Review Assist with the execution of a corporate support function annual management review.

Change Management Monitor Process Change Notification (PCN) Dashboards for compliance to the PCN Policy, assist plants with system questions.

Escalate issues to the Quality Management Systems Manager.

Assist with other Quality Systems during design, test, implementation, training, and maintenance.

Continuous Improvement Assist with the maintenance of the continuous improvement software, Minitab Engage.

Monitor 8D and Continuous Improvement (CI) Dashboards for compliance to the 8D and CI Policy, assist plants with system questions.

Escalate issues to the Continuous Improvement Manager.

Conduct 8D audits as scheduled.

Assist with SPC software implementation as assigned.

Assist with new continuous improvement program tool development and testing.

Assist with program training.

Specification Engineering Assist with interfacing between Engineering and Spec Engineers with drawing and specification reviews, requirements, and documentation.

Project leadership and support for assigned projects.

Assist the team with noncompliance investigations to determine root cause.

Corporate Quality Group Assist with contract review coordination among the applicable plants and update the response library when necessary.

Assist with testing and contributing to the building of new systems, tools, training, and documentation for each group as assigned.

Assist with Purchase Orders for the group.

Manage new web content for the Quality Group Intranet pages.

Monitor system metrics to identify opportunities of improvement to the process, define and complete improvement projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science Discipline required.

5 plus years of industry experience in Quality or Engineering that may include experience in Operations or equivalent function Audit experience, lead auditor certification a plus.

Knowledge of ISO, IATF, MIL, AS.

Proficiency in manufacturing processes, technologies or other relevant areas of responsibility Demonstrated experience using continuous improvement tools and fundamentals to drive results and change.

Able to document and train processes.

Effective project management skills.

Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office and other similar software applications, experience in SAP, InfinityQS, Minitab Engage, or Smartsheet a plus.

Excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) Proficient in English, verbal and written.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization in both formal presentation and informal interaction.

Ability to present information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization and global locations.
