A remote location will require approximately quarterly travel to the Redmond Campus.**Responsibilities****Legal Advice and Counsel**+ You will act as the primary employment law contact for assigned Human Resource clients and provide occasional support to other attorneys.
This work includes advising HR professionals and business leaders about employment and labor law issues including discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, ADA/FMLA, noncompete/trade secrets and breach of contract.+ You will serve as a contributor to clients and colleagues about legal and related business matters, specifically employment law matters.
This work includes:+ Developing and reviewing written HR policies, guidelines and processes, templates, intranet sites, and training materials;+ Developing and delivering legal training for HR generalists, and company managers.+ You will identify and anticipate employment law risk in the client’s business, technology and/or public policy, and propose solutions to mitigate future risk.+ You will provide employment law advice regarding and directing internal investigations.+ You will handle pre-litigation and agency charges by engaging with opposing counsel to seek possible resolution and support the business and Human Resource clients in navigating pre-litigation.+ You will interact with outside counsel or other service providers to address and resolve project-specific issues, including both pre-litigation and agency charges and project-based work.+ You will advise and help clients understand compliance issues, particularly employment law related compliance issues.+ You will conduct, review, interpret and analyze legal information and maintain a basic understanding of employment and labor law legal principles.+ You will identify and engage appropriate stakeholders in CELA, HR and the business to escalate issues, using written and oral communications skills to articulate recommendations and provide options on complex legal issues.+ You will collaborate and partner effectively across teams to provide strong client service in a high volume and fast-paced environment.**Qualifications****Required/Minimum Qualifications**+ Completion of a Legal Apprenticeship OR Juris Doctorate Degree or Equivalent International Degree+ Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction+ 5+ years’ experience as a practicing attorney or equivalent practice of law in employment and labor law or related fields+ Experience advising clients on employment and labor law matters, including discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, ADA/FMLA, noncompete/trade secrets and breach of contract+ Experience litigating employment law matters in state and federal court+ Experience responding to demand letters and/or agency charges+ Experience using technology and/or advising technology clients**Additional or Preferred Qualifications**+ Law firm experience or in-house counsel experienceMicrosoft is an equal opportunity employer.
