Controls Engineer

Summary: This position is p art of the Engineering team, the Controls Engineer develops, tests, and documents machine control systems by performing the following duties: Responsibilities Include: Design, test, and install large-scale PLC based material handling systems, equipment, and machinery for use in the baking industry.

Produce “sequence of operation” diagrams, flowcharts for electrical system designs.

Produce detailed design drawings to customer specification.

Design, write, and troubleshoot PLC code for AB, Mitsubishi, and Siemens PLC.

Design and program HMI screens from a variety of manufacturers.

Work within a specified design schedule.

Troubleshoot equipment.

This may be at assembly, or in the field.

Up to 50% travel required .

Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method.

Write technical materials, such as equipment manuals and operator and maintenance instructions.

Estimate and forecast information related to machine costing for a given project.

Position is full time and includes: Salary, Medical benefits package, Vacation time, Holiday pay, & 401K plan.

Salary TBD based on experience.

Requirements: Desired Skills & Experience BS/EE, BS/ME, or similar 5 years of experience in PLC programming and control panel design.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, general computer skills.

Computer programming, networking, SQL proficiency a strong plus.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
