Configuration Management Engineer

Job SummaryNuclear Waste Partnership (NWP) is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Configuration Management Engineer for immediate employment in the Carlsbad, NM office.

This is a great opportunity for a mid to senior level Engineer who is ambitious and looking for a unique growth opportunity NWP is an Amentum-led entity with partner BWXT and major subcontractor ORANO.

We manage and operate the U.S.

Department of Energy’s Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in southeast New Mexico.The successful candidate will analyze, design, and develop administrative, technical, and engineering work process documents in support of a nuclear operating facility.

The candidate will follow the facility writer’s guide regarding format, order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.

The candidate will provide support for Engineering File Room operations in accordance with established procedures and requirements.

Perform duties as an Expeditor helping Engineers with signature gathering, data package development, scanning, copying, page numbering, etc.

The candidate will be the back-up of the Master Equipment List (MEL) Administrator, which will require technical oversight and guidance to ensure the MEL of structures, systems, and components is maintained.

The candidate will be the back-up capacity as Management Level Determinations (MLD) Administrator for applying adequate and appropriate controls to systems, structures, components, activities, procurements, and work control documents in accordance with procedure.

The candidate will train on and assist with completion of and processing of Maintenance Deferral Requests, Periodic Maintenance Identification Forms, and Engineering Services Requests, assuring auditable documentation is maintained.

This position requires interaction and coordination with various site organizations, e.g., Work Control, Operations, Maintenance, Regulatory Environmental Services, and Training.

This position requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated, detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask competing priorities.NWP Exempt Salary Grade (28-30) Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree, orAssociates Degree with four (4) years of relevant experience, orHigh School Diploma or GED with eight (8) years of relevant experience is required.Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be US Citizens.Preferred Qualifications Preference given to candidates with a demonstrated ability to learn different software tools and systems.Previous WIPP experience is a plus.
