Compliance Monitor

We invite you to join our Compliance and Regulatory Affairs team as a Compliance Auditor Specialist.This full-time career opportunity will have a Monday – Friday schedule, and is located at our office in Los Angeles, CA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision, coordinates the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of quarterly compliance performance data, relative to specified compliance program policies. Maintains confidential compliance documents and records specified data according to Compliance/ Regulatory / and State and Federal health care standards.

Collect and analyze data entry on relevant compliance audit performance indicators.
Perform and coordinate compliance medical record, coding, and claims review audits of varying complexity and scope as appropriate to regulation and policy protocol.
Provide input on root cause for issues impacting compliance. Ensure sound audit theory and compliance within the department’s methodology.
Generate and/or coordinate various compliance audit reports and communicate findings as appropriate to general and focused audits performed
Maintain electronic file data base of all audit working documents and reports
Relay information regarding questions or issues beyond authority to Compliance Manager
Assist Compliance Manager and Senior Vice President of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs with any special assignments, reports, and/or special projects; as needed.

Requirements:
Certified Coder must have and maintain current coding certificate as one of the following – Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P), or Radiology Certified Coder (RCC)
2+ years of experience in medical record auditing and/or healthcare billing and coding.
Radiology/radiology medical record review experience
A High School Diploma or GED(Associates or Bachelor’s degree is a plus).
Ability to follow standard practices in coding and reimbursement with knowledge of CPT, ICD10, and HCPCS codes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Word
Knowledge of payment schemes for outpatient encounters.
Strong time management; strong written and verbal communications skills; must be detail oriented

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
Knowledge of data collection techniques.
Ability to write reports containing technical information.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Word processing and/or data entry skills.
Knowledge of compliance coding requirements and standards.
Knowledge of coding practices and procedures within centers.
Knowledge of coding compliance theory and practice.
Knowledge of general compliance regulatory regulations.
Ability to make evaluative and objective judgments.
Ability to present compliance reports.
Records maintenance for all compliance report requirements.

Pay Range: $25.50 – $29.50/hour
