Primary Role and Responsibility: The Compliance Engineer will have 3-8 years of experience in product safety and regulatory compliance. This role will assist with implementing the product safety and regulatory compliance program. This individual will have good communications skills and will be expected to interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, colleagues and partners. Candidate must be intimately familiar with emerging compliance engineering practices and standards and be cutting-edge regarding compliance and networked in the community. Contribute in achieving and maintaining UL/CE safety and regulatory compliance for all company products Work with external NRTL agencies in attaining GMA certifications for lamps and/or luminaires (i.e., NOM for Mexico, KC for South Korea, etc). Establish and maintain positive relationships with safety and regulatory agencies and Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL) Compose product and packaging label specifications to meet national and international requirements Keeping compliance UL/ETL/IEC Files up to date by working on sustaining and custom sales projects (i.e., custom luminaires, alternate constructions, etc) Review and provide code compliance design input to design engineers early in the design lifecycle Create and maintain compliance test plan Keep abreast with regulations by researching national and international standards Keeping all compliance files organized Provide direction to Engineers and/or Technicians in conducting internal safety tests Support all safety, regulatory, and sustainability compliance needs that arise during the production life of our products Contribute to the product development effort to ensure our products meet all regulatory requirements Required Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor”s degree in Engineering or Technology related degree 3 to 8 years experience as a compliance engineer within the lighting and illumination industry Good written and verbal communication skills Organized, diligent and detail oriented Experience working with cross functional teams (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, sales, program management, product management, marketing) Possess the ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done Experience achieving approval to use certification marks and reports such as UL, ETL, CCEA, CSA, IEC, NOM, CE, CB, RoHS, REACH, and others Experience and thorough understanding of UL924, UL796, UL1598, UL8750, and IEC 60598 Understanding of US and European safety and regulatory requirements related to lighting fixtures Experience with PLM, Jira, Confluence, MS Office (preferred) Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (less than 20%%%%) All qualified applicants will receive equal consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, physical or mental disability, or covered veteran status.
