Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to those transitioning from or at risk of homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. Additionally, we implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services and health care sectors.

POSITION SUMMARY
Brilliant Corners is seeking a Communications Specialist to join the Culture & Engagement team in our Organizational Development Department! We are looking for someone to optimize communications for our People Operations Department; Ensuring consistent messaging, brand, and ideal cadence of information communicated across multiple modes and intended for diverse audiences. Responsibilities include developing and delivering clear and effective communications around project updates, designing marketing materials, policy development and analyzing reports to translate data into compelling visual stories. Additionally, this role will have the opportunity for close collaboration with many of our amazing teams across People Operations and organization-wide to ensure key messaging is being delivered and received effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, strong communications chops across functions, and a track record of producing high-quality deliverables on deadline. Strong writing and editing capabilities, graphic design skills, attention to detail, and ability to distill complex information are essential, but critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence and a commitment to continuous improvement are also important. Familiarity or experience with homelessness or other lived experience is a plus.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Owner of Communications:
Develop and implement communication strategies to ensure timely and accurate project touch points with updates shared in an effective style for the intended audience- all staff, Leadership, or other internal stakeholders as needed.
Review and prepare comprehensive reports, analyzing data and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner to support decision-making processes
Contribute to and maintain People Operations’ communications calendar across channels
Compelling Storyteller:
Create engaging marketing communications for internal and external audiences, including, social media posts and internal wiki site development (Shine)
Graphic design and production of multimedia content, that is incorporated to enhance the effectiveness of communication; such as videos and creative presentations
Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistency of messaging and branding across all communication channels
Support the creation of communications and presentation materials for leadership
Continuous Learner:
Collaborate closely with project teams to gather information and insights, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts and provide recommendations for improvements with a strategic mindset
Stay on top of industry trends to build expertise and thought leadership
Relationship Builder:
Forge strong partnerships with designated business units to facilitate seamless updates on People Operations initiatives, fostering a cohesive organizational environment
Acquire comprehensive knowledge of all Performance Management products and strategies, adeptly communicating and providing training support as necessary to drive adoption and proficiency
Oversee the People Operations Survey strategy, ensuring efficient feedback collection, transparent reporting, and swift action implementation to promote continuous improvement and employee satisfaction
Requirements
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of experience in a communication role, with demonstrated proficiency in marketing, graphic design, program support, data visualization or related field
Impeccable judgment and discretion when handling confidential materials

This position also needs to support creation and review of all-staff messaging. Ensuring our messaging is be accessed, following BC formula. Ensuring we have LT, and sup support on major comms. Supporting entire POPs team, including HR, TA. Ensure message is consistent, and on brand.

Ability to gather and analyze data from various sources (web analytics, social media metrics, surveys, etc.) to measure communications performance and glean insights
Organizational agility
Detail-oriented, organized and proactive in planning, with the ability to utilize knowledge of the organization’s ecosystem to anticipate needs and potential roadblocks
Adept at managing projects from conception to completion, including coordinating with internal teams and external partners

Salary range for this position is $70,000- $75,000 annually.
