A top-rated AmLaw 200 law firm is seeking a Communications Coordinator to reside in our Los Angeles office.

This coordinator will report to the firm’s Communications Manager and support drafting and overall content maintenance related to a variety of internal and external communications projects and content efforts, as well as provide ad hoc support to our public relations function.

This position will join a dynamic marketing team with approximately 20 professionals resident primarily in LA, NY and Chicago.

Note that due to the pandemic, the firm is working remotely until at least after Labor Day, but is actively looking at longer term remote/hybrid options. 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Drafting internal and external communications, including attorney biographies, deal announcements, media/press mentions, awards and accolades announcements (Chambers, Legal 500, etc.).
* Overseeing day-to-day website content entry and maintenance related to attorney biographies, practice capability pages, deal announcements, media/press mentions, awards and accolades announcements and biography references (Chambers, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, etc.), as well as other ad hoc updates.

* Working with the Communications Manager and the firm’s Copyrighter to draft directory and survey submissions on behalf of the firm and individual partners (Chambers, Legal 500, etc.).
* Supporting special communications projects, including attorney Q&As, firm story book pieces and other content projects to be determined, and assisting with project management and overall idea generation for these projects.
* Providing ad hoc support for the public relations and media function, including assisting with conflicts checks and assisting with follow up related to media/trade submissions.
* Maintaining communications and content calendar and plans.
* Assisting with other ad hoc marketing team projects.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and at least two years of work experience is required; experience working for a law firm or other professional services firm is preferred.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Professional demeanor, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational skills and ability to exercise independent judgment. 
* Exceptional attention to detail coupled with the ability to distill technical, complex issues into more accessible language.
* Ability to work collaboratively with firm attorneys, media contacts and colleagues at all levels.
* Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

Tech-savvy and general social media proficiency is a big plus (role will require familiarity with a variety of tech and social platforms).
* Prior experience with legal credentialing processes (e.g., Chambers) is preferred, but not required.

Pay Range: $65,000.00
– $75,000.00 Annually
