Commercial Estimator Business Development – Masonry & Concrete

Our client, a highly successful family-run business with a rich history, is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Estimator with expertise in masonry and concrete. In this role, you will have the chance to work on a variety of unique and challenging projects, including celebrity homes, high-profile custom endeavors, and diverse commercial ventures. With a constantly evolving portfolio, you will collaborate with General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers, utilizing specialized materials to deliver exceptional results.

Role Overview: The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced Commercial Estimator or an individual with a profound understanding of masonry and concrete, capable of forming strong business relationships with Architects, General Contractors, and Engineers. You will be actively involved in networking events, dinners, and industry-related gatherings to foster unique partner relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct project walkthroughs with clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
  • Present detailed bids, including written scope of work, for submission to clients.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the production team to review closed bids and strategize the staffing of all commercial jobs accordingly.
  • Perform daily site visits to monitor work quality and accuracy on commercial construction sites.
  • Ensure job site safety and adherence to production deadlines.
  • Prepare change orders as necessary.
  • Conduct project walkthroughs with foremen and crews to ensure clarity on the scope of work for all employees on-site.
  • Collaborate with Foremen and Project Managers to discuss project goals, address roadblocks, and manage alterations in project scopes.
  • Coordinate with clients to address any project concerns and perform final project walkthroughs for customer sign-off on all work.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of hands-on masonry and concrete experience, encompassing both commercial and residential sectors.
  • Expert knowledge of the trade, including block, brick, stone, stucco, concrete, tile, grading, machine work, precast, repointing, drainage, waterproofing, and blueprint reading.
  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.
  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.
  • Familiarity with building and safety inspections and full compliance with OSHA standards.
