Responsibilities:

The Middle Market Financial Sponsors (MMFSG) Credit team is seeking an underwriter to support a growing and complex loan portfolio. The team focuses exclusively on financings for Middle Market companies that are owned by private equity firms. We typically provide Term Loan A solutions and our sponsor clients include both Middle Market and Large Cap firms. Transactions include LBOs, Recaps, and Acquisition Financings across multiple industries and consist primarily of syndicated transactions.

The UW is responsible for underwriting, structuring and monitoring of credit transactions within the portfolio The Underwriter coordinates the internal credit approval process and partners closely with senior originators and coverage officers on financings. UWs are client facing and actively participate in the diligence, structuring and pitching process.

MMFSG is a fast-paced work environment with a highly active portfolio and strong deal flow from large cap and middle market PE clients. The portfolio consists primarily of Leveraged Transactions and experience with underwriting/monitoring leveraged transactions is preferred.

Can be filled as an UWII, depending on qualifications

Required Skills:

  • BS/BA degree desired

  • 3+ years of solid experience in commercial banking with knowledge of financial analysis, structuring, underwriting and portfolio management

  • Strong communication and analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting, modeling and loan structuring
