Collection Analyst

As a Science, Technology, and Weapons (STW) Analyst at CIA, you will apply your scientific and technical expertise to analyze foreign weapons development, weapons proliferation, cyber warfare, and emerging technologies. You will work closely with regional specialists, military analysts, collection officers, and other Intelligence Community professionals to provide accurate, all-source estimates of foreign intentions and capabilities to senior decision makers.

STW Analysts draw upon their technical expertise to evaluate the threat that a weapon or technology might present to U.S. interests. You will communicate your findings to policy and operational decision makers via a broad range of written intelligence products and verbal presentations. You will need to use your technical expertise, initiative, creativity, critical thinking, and strong communication and interpersonal skills on a daily basis to solve complex intelligence problems and drive intelligence collection efforts.

Opportunities exist for foreign and domestic travel, language training, analytic and management training, and assignments to other offices in the Agency and throughout the U.S. Government. Agency analysts are encouraged to maintain and broaden professional ties through academic study, contacts, and attendance at professional meetings. You may also choose to pursue additional studies in fields relevant to your areas of responsibility.
