Cocktail Server Broken Shaker

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Take food and beverage orders; retrieve and serve alcoholic/non- alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest tables; direct SA?s and Kitchen Servers on table service in assigned station according to restaurant specifications, courteously and efficiently. Collect payments.
Assist in the maintenance of the Restaurant area and supplies. Have knowledge and understanding of menu and can answer questions about ingredients and allergens.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Interacting with guests/patrons by taking their orders, making recommendations, providing them with accurate bills, serving them food and drinks, processing payments and supplying them with their needs in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with opening and closing duties, such as preparing ingredients and restocking items.
  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the proper age to purchase/drink alcoholic beverages, complying with alcohol serving laws
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests? needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items including foods, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections
  • Maintain knowledge of the characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients, quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and method of presentation
  • Maintain complete knowledge of P.O.S. and manual systems.
  • Check quality and amount of all restaurant stock and supplies.
  • Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to restaurant.
  • Ensure a sufficient supply of all silverware, glassware, and chinaware for service.
  • Review reserved tables and names of such; follow up on special arrangements for pre- assigned tables.
  • Direct and work closely with the Kitchen Servers and Server Assistants in assigned station on service timing, additional table wares for courses, etc.
  • Open and serve wine/champagne bottles in accordance with standards of service.
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
  • Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Complete all closing reports as assigned and leave duty after reporting to supervisor.
  • Other duties as requested by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

  • Assist Kitchen Servers and Server Assistants in their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Answer guests? questions about menu items
  • Learn about menu items including wine, beer, and cocktails
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure proper appearance and grooming while on duty
  • Ensure to limit wastage and breakage
  • Handling multiple tables and tasks in an efficient manner.
  • Effectively communication with applicable associates using the interdepartmental communication system or in-person

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enthusiastic, courteous, attentive and friendly
  • Must be minimum age to serve alcohol
  • Must communicate legibly
  • Flexible and able to work various shifts, ability to work in high pressure situations
  • Be courteous, professional, and provide efficient service
  • Must be fluent in English, verbal and written
  • Must work with minimum supervision

Education:

  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

1. High school education or GED
2. 2 years experience as a server

Knowledge:

  • Hospitality and Customer service.
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Compliance with all local, state and federal liquor laws

Physical:

  • Must be able to move throughout the property with ease
  • May also be required to walk, balance, stand, and carry
  • Position may also require regular lifting of up to 25 pounds.
