Cocktail Server

The Opportunity 

Delaware North Travel and Hospitality is hiring full-time Cocktail Servers to join our team at LAX Airport in Los Angeles, California. As a Cocktail Server, you will use your knowledge of wines, beers, and cocktails to serve a variety of drinks to guests while providing excellent service in every interaction.

Please note this is a tipped position, the hourly minimum pay listed doesn’t include any potential tipped earnings.

Minimum pay rate: $18.04 / hour

Responsibilities 
  • Greet guests, communicate drink specials, answer questions about available beverages, and take beverage orders.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, request identification, adhere to all unit and company alcohol service policies and procedures.
  • Enter drink orders into the point-of-sale system; pick up drink orders and deliver to guests.
  • Observe and follow up with guests, ready to provide additional service.
  • Prepare and deliver the guest checks; accept and process payment or direct guests to the cashier.
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
Qualifications 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess basic knowledge of standard drink recipes and alcohol brand names.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to accurately total guest checks and count change.
Physical Requirements 
  • Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions.  
  • Ability to maneuver between tables and around corners.
  • Ability to lift, balance and carry trays, weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare bills.
  • Ability to move between hot, noisy, and smoky conditions of a bar and climate-controlled dining environment.
  • Noise levels may be moderate to high during busy times.
