CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant / Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Staffing is seeking Certified Nurse Aides who also hold a current permit issued under Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 242, Subchapter N, Administration of Medication.

Duties may include: Assisting licensed nurses with CNA duties: Taking and recording vital signs; Measuring and recording height and weight; Caring for a residents environment; Recognizing abnormal changes in body functioning and the importance of reporting such changes to a licensed nurse; Assisting with eating and hydration; Proper feeding techniques; Skin care; and Transfers, positioning and turning.

Assisting licensed nurses with CMA duties: Administer routine p.o.

(by mouth) medications; Administer routine eye/ear drops and nose drops/sprays; Administer routine vaginal/rectal suppositories; Administer routine metered dose inhalers; Apply routine topicals that involve skin that is not broken or blistered; Perform finger sticks to check blood sugar; Verify a dose of insulin drawn by and administered by a licensed nurse; and Take vital signs, including before the administration of a routine medication that could affect or change the vital signs.

Verify the count of controlled drugs with a licensed nurse every 24 hours.

Job Requirements for all candidates: Certified Nurse Aide must hold a current permit including a current permit issued under Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 242, Subchapter N, Administration of Medication.

Preferably 2 years of Hospital acute care, LTC , community clinics, public health, and nursing home experience is a plus.
