As a Clinical Nurse III, you will deliver direct care to assigned pediatric, adult and or geriatric patients in an ambulatory setting. Nursing care is delivered using standards of care by following approved policies and procedures. Provide care to patients with oncology and hematology diagnoses, including safe administration of chemotherapy, transfusion of blood products, symptom management, VAD care and peripheral IV insertion. Includes care of patients on Phase I clinical trials. You will work in generally clean environment, but may have exposure to chemotherapy, chemotherapy-contaminated waste, and infections materials including blood, body fluids and possible communicable diseases. Work environment requires the use of protective barriers, such as gowns, gloves, masks and goggles/protective face shield to ensure protection. Tasks are Category I exposure to HBV/HIV. Essential Duties: Access ports, PICCs and central lines Triage patient phone calls Coordinate complex oncology care Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required License/Certification/Registration: Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of California required BLS from the American Heart Association required Oncology Certified Nurse OCN desired ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN required Minimum of 3 years acute care experience Oncology nursing experience preferred Competency in intravenous skills and vascular access device management required Experience: Minimum 2 years chemotherapy administration experience.
