Operates and programs CMM for production parts and tooling fixtures to engineering drawings using precision inspection tools and gauges.Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Set-up and run Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machine with Calypso 5.4 software.* Operate Metronics QC5000 CMM program.* Operate Romer Arm Verisurf with version 10 software.* Maintain CMM cleanliness and operations.* Operate and maintain Comparators.* Interpret complex tool drawings.* Use Standard Measuring Instruments (including sine plates) to make inspection set-ups.* Initiate appropriate inspection reports.* Record inspection results.* Maintain inspection data.* Locate tools and perform periodic inspection on tooling listed on the monthly dispatch report.* File drawings and reports.* Assist inspection whenever necessary.* Review and accept inspection data from outside facilities.* Coordinate design efforts with Manufacture Engineering Department.* Coordinate tool inspection priorities with Tool Control Department.* Maintain area in a neat, clean and orderly manner.* Make complex surface plate set-ups to evaluate multi-plane compound characteristics.* Use trigonometry to solve angles and legs of triangles generated by set-ups.* Compare part drawings to ensure compatibility and anticipated results.* Analyze dimensional characteristics on first parts produced on tool to determine if production parts will be within specific tolerance limits.* This job description is not all inclusive of all duties.
