Flexport is looking for a Client Platform Engineer to help Flexport establish itself as the most trusted company in the global trade ecosystem.

As Client Platform Engineer, you are responsible for deployment & management of endpoints, client configurations & identity management.

You have experience administering MDM, accounts provisioning/deprovisioning for onboarding & offboarding; MacOS, Windows/ChromeOS endpoint system management, AWS services including WorkspaceOne and access management solutions such as Thycotic, Okta.

You like to continuously look for ways to improve all aspects of IT processes by looking for ways to automate & deploy innovative repeatable processes. 

What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, document and support ongoing automation in endpoint deployment and management
  • Support and manage macOS, iOS, Windows, ChromeOS operating systems and software
  • Manage, administer, and scale our endpoint fleet and related infrastructure
  • Define and manage a full cycle patch and software distribution framework
  • Manage and maintain client configuration and security compliance standards across all endpoints
  • Implement and iterate on deployment solutions across macOS, Windows, ChromeOS
  • Identify and deploy internal process and automation improvements
  • Work as an escalation point for the global IT support team
  • Automate application and settings distribution
  • Manage and maintain client configuration and security compliance standards
  • Implement and iterate solutions across Operating System platforms
  • Work with the security team to drive endpoint security models and best practices across the environment
  • Support logical integrations into cloud based directories, IdPs and identity masters
  • Identify and deploy internal process and automation improvements
  • Work as the escalation point for the global IT Service Desk team
  • Create and maintain detailed and accurate documentation
  • Participate in on-call incident response rotation
  • Perform other tasks as requested and prioritized by the TechOps Manager

What you’ll need:

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • 5+ years of internal and external applications and systems implementation and support (e.g.

    SSO solutions, G Suite, Slack, Anti-Virus, etc.)

  • 3+ years experience with one or more scripting languages, such as, Python, Go, JavaScript, or Ruby
  • 5+ years of technical experience managing macOS, windows, chromeos at an enterprise scale, using a combination of open source and commercially-available tools (munki, chocolatey, osquery, Uptycs, Workspace One, Thycotics etc)
  • 3+ years of experience administering SSO, AD as well as Client Platforms such as Mac, Windows etc
  • Knowledge of the inner-workings of common Operating Systems, including the ability to troubleshoot advanced issues
  • Excellence in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work with a diverse, and globally distributed team

Our flagship office is on Market Street in San Francisco, but we also have engineering teams working out of our locations in Seattle, Atlanta and Chicago.

Working out of our NY or LA offices are also an option.
