The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is primarily responsible for setting the technology vision and strategy for our Visual Effects and Virtual Production units while overseeing all technology-related aspects of the business in partnership with Scanline and Netflix executives and production leadership. The CTO will lead all technology employees at Scanline VFX, Eyeline Studios, and coordinate with Netflix teams to identify and create synergies. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds, aggregates, and fosters the technology teams, leading them to achieve and exceed the short and long term objectives of the technology organization
  • Establishes and communicates technology vision and strategy to deliver on Scanline and Eyeline Studios’ growth 
  • Oversees all aspects of the company’s technology needs, including operational support, infrastructure maintenance, software development, production pipeline support, information security, and software and hardware purchases.
  • Provides clear technology leadership to articulate the vision to improve efficiency and creative excellence.
  • Fosters and protects Scanline VFX and Eyeline Studios’ digital intellectual property.
  • Fosters research initiatives and collaborates with Netflix and external partners on cutting-edge technologies and determine the impact on efficiency, creativity, and feasibility of implementation
  • Partners with production leadership, visual effects supervisors, and department leaders to ensure that technology solutions and services support production creative and efficiency goals
  • Establishes and own technology budgets balancing spending and technology capability to ensure ROI of technology investments
  • Maintains close relationships with software and hardware vendors to leverage and influence technology roadmaps and partner alliance activities
  • Maintains close alignment with Netflix technology goals to benefit both Scanline & Netflix

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Fifteen (15) years of experience or more leading teams in technology in support of VFX, VP, Animation, or closely related fields
  • You have had multiple experiences leading and building customer-centric and innovative technical teams, including systems and software engineers
  • You are an expert in fostering strong partnerships, collaborating cross-functionally, and driving technology teams to their full potential
  • You have led through ambiguity and are comfortable making decisions despite incomplete information and/or requirements
